5 Benefits of Facials
Despite what you might think, a facial is not just creams rubbed and massaged into your skin. It’s so much more than that.
A facial, performed by the right person, is a multi-purpose skin treatment designed for your individual skin type and concerns; sometimes with and sometimes without, machinery.
There are many benefits to getting a facial on a regular basis (I recommend every 4 weeks) but I’ve listed the top 5 I consider the most important:
Deep Cleanse – A facial provides a much deeper cleanse and exfoliation than what you’re able to do at home yourself. It will open your pores, allowing deeper penetration of products.
Rejuvenation – The products used in a facial (e.g. exfoliant, massage oil or cream and masks) are full of actives and nutrients which enable the skin to work so much harder in promoting new skin cells and skin health by repairing your skin’s natural barrier.
Increases Blood Circulation – Studies show that massage is one of the best ways to increase blood circulation. This applies to facial massages too. Increased blood circulation translates to healthy glowing skin as the cells receive more oxygen and nutrients to them along with the blood flow.
Targeting Skin Concerns (such as ageing, acne etc) – Depending on your skin concern each facial is different. A facial to concentrate on ageing would have properties to target lines and wrinkles, sun damage age spots etc. A facial will be able to stimulate elastin and collagen, improve skin texture and bring luminosity to the skin. The same applies for acne; a facial will concentrate on unclogging pores, reducing inflammation, extracting whiteheads and blackheads and reducing any redness. None of this can be done effectively and safely at home.
Relaxation – This is one of the most important benefits. It’s important for your health to take the time to relax. Not only does a facial treat and relax your skin, it works wonders for the body too. There is nothing more relaxing than having someone apply products onto your face, massaging them into your skin, combined with a good scalp massage or a hand or foot massage and steam and hot towels on the skin. All of which none of us would do to ourselves at home.
Hopefully I’ve convinced you it’s worth booking in your next facial with me. Check out the different facials I currently offer here, all using dermaviduals products.
